Do you think it is a good idea for students to help with relief efforts for tsunami victims? Why or why not?

Not long ago, a tsunami caused great destruction to several countries in Asia. Homes and entire cities were destroyed, and lives were lost. Now

Our Question is - Do you think it's a good idea for kids to help with relief efforts for tsunami victims? To answer that question, you'll answer some smaller questions.

Planning - You will use a graphic organizer to keep track of the information you gather.

Gathering - You will gather your information from Time for Kids website.

Sifting & Sorting - Answers to some questions will be found in the text. Answers to other questions will come from your own understandings. Which is which?

Synthesizing - Go back to our big question - do you have an answer? Can you justify your answer?

Evaluating - How could kids evaluate the effectiveness of their relief efforts?

Reporting - What did you learn about tsunami relief efforts? Who could you share your new learnings with?
