Planning - What would a Mount St. Helens eruption look like?

Our focus in this activity is on planning for research. However, we still need to use other steps in the research cycle.

Our Question is - What might a Mount St. Helens eruption look like? How would it look different from other volcanic eruptions?

Planning - Part of planning is locating resources. Brainstorm some possible resources. Brainstorm some keywords to use when searching.Keep your brainstorm lists in a Word document. Then begin the search!

Gathering - Locate at least three resources using your brainstorm list to get you started.

Sifting & Sorting - As you locate pictures of Mount St. Helens and other volcanic eruptions, which resources seem to have the best information?

Synthesizing - Choose one picture that you would like to share with your class. Be ready to share the name of the resource and explain how you found it.

Evaluating - Do you think you located the best possible resources to answer this question? Where else could you have looked?

Reporting - Share a picture and resource with your class.
