Synthesizing
-
Martin Luther King, Jr.:
What did his protests have in common?
Our focus in this activity is on synthesizing information. However, we still need to use other steps in the research cycle.
Our Question is - What did Martin Luther King, Jr.'s protests have in common?
Planning - Get your graphic organizer ready. You will need to gather some information to help you answer the question.
Gathering - Read about three of MLK's protests.
Sifting & Sorting - Gather only information that will help you answer the question.
Synthesizing - Look over the information you gathered about the three protests. How were they alike? How were they different?
Evaluating - Do you think you have enough information to answer our essential question? If not, what could you do to gather more information?
Reporting - Explain to your class what you learned about MLK's protests, and what they have in common.
