Kindergarten
A large backpack (to be carried to and from school daily) with child’s name, address and phone number clearly marked on the inside flap (for privacy reasons). The backpack should be large enough for a lunch, library book and school papers, etc.
A recent photo of your kindergartner with his/her name printed on back.
The following supplies do not need to be labeled because they will all be put in community baskets within the room to share:
1. 1 dozen #2 pencils
2. Box of crayons
3. 3 - 5 glue sticks
4. Two 4 oz. Bottles of “Elmer’s” white glue (not “No Run”)
5. One box of your child’s favorite healthy storable snack (enough for all to be shared at snack time with other classmates)
6. A folder with pockets to be used for written communication between school and home.
7. $10.00 for misc. supplies and Scholastic Magazine. Make checks payable to Carl Cozier PTA
In kindergarten we share supplies to teach cooperation skills and because materials that are managed by the group last about twice as long as individual supplies. If for any reason you cannot buy any or all of these items, we have other resources to provide materials. Please talk with your child’s teacher.

Please bring back the Summer Science Nature Book that was sent home in June. I told the children that I would be collecting them just to see what they did during the summer!
If you are new to Cozier and /or room #23 5th grade, then you will need a 3-ring binder (a 2 or 3 inch ring, please). You will also need 5-6 subject dividers, too.No Trapper Keepers, please! If you are returning, then I have already stowed the 3-ring binder you had in 4th grade!
This is new for everyone…Please get a 2 inch (only) 3-ring binder. We will use this for a better way to manage the Homework Log and storage of homework going home and coming back as well as office notes etc. for the parents! Thanks!
This is also new for everyone…one empty and cleaned soup can…decorated if you like with spray paint or something permanent. We will use these as individual pencil pots at our tables!
A small non-electric pencil sharpener WITH A RECEPTACLE for catching the shavings…(many a child spent a lot of time picking up a lot of shavings from the floor)
2 yellow highlighters
2 red pens
2 ball point blue or black pens
A ruler with both metric and standard measurements
Pencils! I know the kids love the fancy coated ones, however, they run havoc with even the best Boston Pencil Sharpener we have!
