Carl Cozier Site Council

The Carl Cozier Council is an elected decision-making body responsible for strategic and annual school planning. There are four teachers, one classified staff member, two parents, the principal and a community representative on the council. The council meets the first Monday of each month at 4:00 p.m. The meetings are open to any interested observers. Forms are available in the office to get time on the council's meeting agenda. If you're interested in being a member of the site council or learning more about it, contact Tom Venable (360 676-6470 X5850).

Activities of the Site Council

  • Train new officers and members.
  • Celebrate accomplishments.
  • Plan yearly calendar.
  • Determine yearly budget spending.
  • Evaluate proposed programs.
  • Report to the school board on school progress.
  • Participate in school improvement committees.
  • Facilitate handbook revisions.
  • Examine assessment data and make recommendations.
  • Keep current on district policy and procedure.
  • Plan curriculum activities.
  • Plan parent involvement.
  • Train parents as reading coaches.
  • Provide annual school performance report.
